Hello.My name is Ciprian and I am from Romania.I bought a Notebook Amilo L7300 one month ago. In general is working fine.I have some problems with the DVD+-RW Philips SDVD 8431:1. It seems it cannot manage to recognize a DVD, nor a DVD-RW.

Every time I insert a DVD, the device pints out that it is CD Drive and the capacity is 0 bytes. I also bought Philips DVDs, but it cannot recognize it.2. I tried to write a DVD. I used Samsung Pleomax 8X. I bought the Notebook with Nero already installed.

Nero recognized the capacity of the DVD, selected corectly the writing speed. It took some time to burn it and I got the message that the burning process was completed successfuly. But when trying to see the content of the DVD (data DVD: Office files and some audio files), it does not work. Now, when I insert the written DVD into the Notebook, it is bloking all my programs.3. I installed a new firmaware (LX51), but it didn't solve the problem.

I also tried to find the driver for the DVD+-RW, in order to reinstall it, but I couldn't find it anyware (it seems that it is not on the Drivers&Utilities CD I got with the Notebook).Is there someone having any ideas on how to solve these problems? My DVD drive also has the same problems. I have also posted the same onI can burn DVDs which can be read on other DVD Players and other Computers. But my computer cannot read what it has burned. When I put the DVD inside after burning it on my computer it says 'empty CD/leere CD'. The same DVD can be read on other Computers.Also, my computer can read other DVDs (boughtout DVDs and DVDs burnt on other computers).CD read and write is working OK.I had called FSC and they sent me LX48 firmware update. Even after updating it firmware the porblem is still there.Can any one please helpViren SaxenaHamburg.
